Customer Profiles
New Feature!
In this quarter’s Backwaters News, we start a new column devoted to customers we see on a regular basis, but rarely get to know much about them. We will give you a little insight to their business, personal and social life. Say hello to our first victims!
Nancy Lloyd - Always a smile!
Several evenings a week we see Nancy relaxing on the deck with a Golden Margarita on the rocks while waiting for carry out or just enjoying the view. Little did we know that she is Director of Curriculum, College of Technology and Management for St. Petersburg College. Nancy and husband, Thomas, live on Sand Key and are trying to figure out how to have grandchildren without having kids! We think if they figure that out, they are going to be VERY popular!

Backwaters & Maggie Mae’s Set First Quarter Record
Great weather, good customers and hospitality created the scenario for record sales in the first quarter of 2007 for both Backwaters and Maggie Mae’s. Mild weather, even in January and February, allowed both restaurants to utilize outdoor seating on an occasional basis. Thanks to our loyal customers for helping to make this possible.

Best Bets for Fresh Local Seafood
Fishermen dream of this time of year. The annual migration of many species of fish begins in April and provides the suncoast a host of opportunities. Offshore, the prime target in April is king mackerel. Grouper and snapper also begin moving into warmer water. By the middle of May tarpon will begin roaming the shoreline. Inshore it’s the prime time of year for almost every species. Redfish, snook and trout are sought after targets around flats, oyster bars and structure. As spring moves closer to summer, Spanish mackerel invade the inshore areas and provide plenty of action on light tackle. Grab a pole and head to the water or hire a guide for a day of fun. If you can, take a kid fishing. It’s a great experience!
